The VLA

In the summer of 2004, after a few years playing the music scene in NYC, Jason Rabe (guitar/vox) and Ravi Subramanian (bass/keys), decided to move out to Los Angeles and see what a little sunshine could do for them. Arriving with only a hockey bag full of clothes and their gear, the two musicians began sleeping on the couches and futons of their more then generous friends. Within a month they managed to wrangle a few jobs, find a drummer and begin rehearsing their new material. They named the band the VLA, after the research facility in New Mexico, and started gigging…

Starsailor

Grupo formado na cidade de Chorley, aqui na Inglaterra, o Starsailor lançou o primeiro single em 2001. Os caras foram bastante influenciados por Tim Buckley, pai do já falecido cantor Jeff Buckley, outro nome aliás pra você ir atrás se já não conhece. Gostam tanto de Tim Buckley que tiraram o nome pra banda, Starsailor, de um disco do cara lançado em 1970. O primeiro disco da carreira “Love is Here”, saiu em 2002, muito bem recebido pelo mercado inglês. O mais recente e segundo trabalho da carreira, “Silence is Easy”

Air

Os franceses do Air são aquelas típicas pessoas cool, há quase dez anos misturando som eletrônico ao jazz, soul music de branquelo, breguices contemporâneas, entre outras coisas.Mastigam tudo, e depois cospem na maior finèsse. Porém, se pensarmos que a dupla só lançou álbuns muito afudê, não há como explicar de maneira plausível o quanto essa semicaricatura tem de bom, afinal. Talvez uma simplificação seja definitiva a respeito: os caras fazem canções pra foder gostoso.
Vale a pena conferir, eles estão na trilha sonora do filme "Virgens Suicidas"

Sua música costumava ser classificada como britpop, devido ao fato da banda ter se tornado popular na mesma época em que o termo se espalhou pela grande mídia. O estilo musical da banda apresenta influências também do punk rock, do grunge e do hard rock.
