The VLA

In the summer of 2004, after a few years playing the music scene in NYC, Jason Rabe (guitar/vox) and Ravi Subramanian (bass/keys), decided to move out to Los Angeles and see what a little sunshine could do for them. Arriving with only a hockey bag full of clothes and their gear, the two musicians began sleeping on the couches and futons of their more then generous friends. Within a month they managed to wrangle a few jobs, find a drummer and begin rehearsing their new material. They named the band the VLA, after the research facility in New Mexico, and started gigging…
